The non-profit organization that directly supports the unincorporated community of Sutherland Springs. Some might think it's just another one of those rural cities or small towns in Texas. However, with a population of about 600, it's much more modest.
We are staying connected socially and spiritually by hosting events and monthly meetings. There are many non profit organizations, but the Sutherland Springs Community Association, Inc. continues its focus to better our community for the long term.
Would you like to be more involved in our community? Join us for our monthly Community Board meetings which are open to the public. Voice your concerns and share your solution ideas with your neighbors. Together we are stronger and wiser! Held on the 3rd Monday of every month at 7 pm (subject to change). Follow our Facebook page for updates and announcements. https://www.facebook.com/sutherlandspr
Do you have a special event coming up? Do you need a venue? We would love to help with that! Your community building is also an event venue available for rent. When you rent the Community Building as your venue, this also includes the use of our large covered BBQ pits, the new spacious covered wooden deck, and the playground on site!
Wanted: Anyone who wants to be a little more active and maybe lose some weight.
Cost: Very little – just a small donation to help cover the cost of electricity. Nothing for the exercise class. If you can’t donate every time, that’s ok.
Where: Sutherland Springs Community Building
When: Dates and times are open until I can get an idea of the number of persons interested and what will work for the majority. I would like to do it at least 3 times a week.
How: Move to the music; Body Groove DVD’s. Go to www.bodygroove.com to see what it is all about.
I have been granted permission to use these DVD’s by Misty Tripoli, owner and developer of this form of exercise
You don’t have to know how to dance or know any exercise routine. You just move any way that you feel like moving. The instructor on the DVD’s has instructions that incorporates different areas of the body but you put as much or as little effort as you can (or want to) depending on your fitness level. You decide what you do because you know your body and health issues. You decide how long to do it, so you can move some and rest some and then move some more. The important thing is… just MOVE. ANYONE, and I mean anyone can do this because you control the intensity of the movement.
